The Easy Elegant Up-do

Hey beauties!
I’m not hairdresser, nor am I the best at hair, but I was asked by my boyfriends mom to do her hair for an office holiday party. I said sure, why not right?

She sent me the picture and I pretty much crapped myself. Now, I love doing all things girly and love experimenting and playing around with makeup and hair and style, but trying something like this for my first time, when it has to look good the first try? I was freaking myself out haha. After looking up some Pinterest how-to’s, I gave it a go, and to my surprise? It came out pretty damn well!!
So I decided, if it was that easy for me, it is definitely do-able for everyone else.
Here are the tips I used to get it done:

I also pulled some of her hair from the front and put it into a small bobble, so at the end she could have some free pieces.
Now, before I put the elastic at the bottom, I curled the hair in the pony. For this tutorial I found on Pintrest, the next step was the tuck the pony piece under, like this:

What I found easier was pulling the hair up towards the top rather than under, and tucking the bit under in somewhat of a rolled way. This diagram somewhat explains it :

I pinned the sides so it would stay, like this :

Then I continued to add bobby pins throughout to hold some of the curls, and added hairspray as well.
This is what it looked like:

I then braided the two side pieces, put elastic a on them, and crossed them at the back. I tucked in the end but into the bun bit.

I then grabbed the bit in the tiny pony at the top of her head and blow dried it with a round brush to give it some volume, and then curled the ends.
That’s it!
I hope you like it and can have an easier, more simple time after this post!!
Enjoy :)

UGG-spiration

Hey guys!
So, winter/cold weather is quickly arriving and that gets me excited particularly for gorgeous boots and scarves!! But there always comes a fashion dilemma – UGGs. They have been shunned in the fashion world, yet are still a must-have (in my books). Well, sorry fashion gurus, but UGGs are amazing in the winter – super warm and unbelievably comfortable.
Now yes – they’re not upperclass fashion world, but they’re a great go-to and my first choice for some simple yet chic, quick, street style. Believe it or not, even designers like Michael Kors, Coach, River IslandStella McCartney, make their own ugg-type boots, but not even the top designers can compare.
There are even tons of celebrities rocking UGGs on the streets!
Blake Lively – Kim Kardashian – Hillary Duff – Miley Cyrus – Mila Kunis – Jennifer Aniston – Penelope Cruz – Elle Macpherson -Gwen Stefani – Megan Fox – Vanessa Hudgens
AND so many more!!
Even the iconic Sarah Jessica Parker wears them about, as well as Leighton Meester and her fashion obsessed character Blair Waldorff who wears them on screen!

White After Labor Day

(Grey Crop Top – Garage , Plaid Button Down – J.Crew , White Skort – H&M , Solid Gold Ring –Forever 21 , Black Heels – Aldo , Necklaces – Francesca’s)

Labor Day has just passed and that usually means no white… right!? Well, sorry society – I don’t quite follow that rule. I love this combination. It’s a good transition to fall outfit with the touch of plaid and grays. I don’t know about you, but here in VA it’s still 90°!! Yup, I'm back to taking my own pics :/ my lovely friend is moving to Florida. Will miss him much xo.

Enjoy what’s left of the sun :) :)

Dear Love

Dear Love,
I find you in my mind
In my morning
My night
My dreams
My strolls
Through the park.
You’re everywhere I go
Even when
You’re standing
At someone else’s
Door.
Dear Love,
You’ve torn out my heart
And left it
Yet I still come back
For more
You’ve shackled it
To the floor
And kept it
And that’s okay
Because I’m yours
Forevermore.
Dear Love,
There’s no going back
To the start
Our ‘new leaves’
Have fallen
Oh so far.
Winter is coming
It’ll be too cold
Out here
For a lonely heart.
I am destined to freeze
I am falling apart.
So dear Love,
Remember me
As your heart
And soul.
Remember me
As your love
That never grew old.
Remember me
When I am not around
Because maybe
I will mean more then
Than I have now.
